WELCOME TO MY BLOG

Hello friends, family, sponsors & clients!
I am so excited to start this summer 2013. Thank you for all of your support as I accomplish my race goals. Check out the calendar of events and join me on race day, or you can check this blog to see my posted results. I am so blessed to have a healthy body after having two children and look forward to many more races in the future! I so appreciate those of you that sponsored me in 2011. It was a successful year! I placed 3rd in my age group in the Grapevine Triathlon and 8th overall female with a time of 1:22 for the sprint distance. I took 1st place overall female, 3rd overall male and female in the Indoor Lifetime Sprint Triathlon, and placed 5th in my age group at the Austin Olympic Triathlon with a time of 2:59, which I plan to beat this year! I placed 1st in the Roc the Doc 5k for the second year in a row, and then ran the Azalea 10k for the second time- 6 months pregnant! I ran that with my brother Ben and Sister Sarah- who pushed a stroller with a baby. Check out the pics! The last 2 years have flown by as I have been so busy with two children now. But things are starting to get back to normal and I am feeling more myself.... I am READY TO RUN!

Wow! two years since I have blogged!

Hello every body!
I can not believe I let these 2 years go by with out blogging about it!
So a quick recap and then on with a better future of blogging.

Graysen David Tyler was born a year ago May 23, 2012. He was born 6 weeks premature in the Private Catholic Hospital (Christus Cabrini) in Alexandria Louisiana. I was there visiting my Parents on their farm for my birthday. The night my husband left to go back to work in Texas, but I was staying a few more days with Emma, my water broke while sleeping early that morning. I was in the hospital 3 days before Graysen made his appearance. I was blessed immensely! My sister Tarakay was there visiting for the summer, even though she was going to do another semester in college in Utah. This was such a blessing because she stayed with Emma through this time, and I was able to have my mother at my side. Craig stayed on the weekends but had to travel back and forth to Texas for work. Despite what the NICU nurses said about wimpy white boys, Graysen was strong! He quickly was able to breath on his own and had less tubes as each day went on. I had terrible post postpartum depression and could not sleep in the hospital after he was born, even with Craig at my side. I remember going into his room and singing through the hole in the incubator so that he would hear my voice. It felt so wrong to not have him inside me, to not be able to hold him. I felt so empty and scared. I sat there in the dark and cried and sang. The nurses kept telling me that I needed to get some sleep so that when he was ready to come home, I would be able to care for him then. I went back to the room and tried to sleep but only did for a couple hours then would pump breast milk and bring it back to the NICU frige and visit with Graysen some more. The nurses were my angels the whole time, calming me and answering my endless questions. They allowed for my husband and fathers to give him a priesthood blessing. Emma watched through the window longing to meet her little brother. Once we were able to try nursing at the breast, Graysen began gaining weight and came home a few days later. I stayed at my parents home a few days and then my mom came back with my to texas for a couple days. It felt so wonderful to finally have my family complete. For months we were nervous for Graysen and had to take him to the hemogloben doctor in Dallas every week for blood testing. Today he his healthy and chubby, crawling around chasing his big sister! We have been so blessed these last two years!
So now we are in another season of life. Emma is so independent and loves to help with Graysen. It is so fun to watch them play together. Today we went to the park with Aunt Jess and Ashley, and their children Chloe and Cole (the Tyler cousins). We went for a long stroller walk in the beautiful forest trails and then they played on the playground. Later today I am teaching Yoga and Water Aerobics at LA fitness. I registered for the Austin Olympic Triathlon yesterday and got my tri suit in the mail! I am very excited to start back into the Triathlon season! Riding my bike again after two years was so invigorating... and of coarse I was soar the next day. Yesterday I ran 10 miles. I have posted my new race schedule for the year so check that out! I will be posting more often now, and with less bulk, so I hope you will keep following along with out lives!
